day in the life
Today started out funky. B started a week of nights last night, so our routine was shifted. I slept with F in my bed when I usually join him in his bed around 11 pm. Instead of waking up early and drinking coffee before the big kids got up, I caught some extra sleep (since I never sleep as well when B is gone) and they all piled into bed with me as they woke up. We took our time getting downstairs, then the kids immediately dove into their various books, even F. M is especially focused on her Ocean encyclopedia at the moment, with lots of exclamations about various interesting facts she's learning along the way. O, who at age 4 doesn't yet read, still doggedly refuses for me to read to him, insisting he read everything himself. :) B arrived home, and I fed the kids before slipping away to read a chapter of Their Eyes Were Watching God in the bath before B headed to sleep for the day.
